Bulk milk chillers (BMCs) are used to cool milk from 35°C to 4°C. They are a key part of milk collecting centers. When milk is extracted, it is around 37°C. If the milk continues to remain at room temperature, bacterial growth will affect its quality. BMCs chill the milk to 4°C in a set amount of time. These can have capacities ranging from 1,000 to 10,000 liters. The capital cost varies depending on the capacity and specifications of the chiller.
